This Memorial Day has been weird for me. As far as I know I have no family that has passed serving our country, so I don't have anyone to go pay honor to today. No one invited us to a bbq, and we're not hosting one, so that's very weird.
Mickey is in town today so this morning she took care of Malachi while John and I slept an hour and a half after he got up. Thank you Mickey!! After hanging out for a while Malachi made known his desire to go play outside. Since we don't have a yard or the fun toys he was used to playing with outside and grandma and grandpa's house we decided going somewhere would be a good time. Finally the Dallas Zoo is what we ended up doing because Malachi loves the stream they have in the Children's Zoo. He must have played there for 45 minutes before we took him out.
He wanted Chick-fil-A so that's where we headed for lunch. During his nap, I finished a craft project I was working on, and John worked on his new blog, I got a memebership at Palm Beach Tan (woo hoo, I wont be white!!!), and hung out with John for a bit. Mickey slept and did her nails (which I should do soon too).
Tonight we're going to do who knows what for dinner. Tomorrow is my Esther Bible Study! Only two more before I have to quit going.

Trip to MN
I've just recently recovered from my whirlwind of a trip to MN. If I blogged about my whole trip in detail it would reach for miles, so I'm going to summarize.
Friday -
Plane ride up - saw windmills from cruising altitude, realized how huge they are. Picked up by Steph, go to lunch with her and mom at Arbys - mmmm. Go to Grandma E's to look at old family photos for display of pics of dad. Laugh...lots.
Go to Target to buy presents and supplies for party displays. Pick up Papa Murphy's. Eat dinner with mom and Steph; have Uncle Mark, his sister-in-law Patty, my cousin Aaron and his wife Abby over to hang. Have a great time.
Saturday -
Sleep in mmm. Hang with mom for a couple of hours, breakfast with mom and steph, get ready for long day. Go to dad's house, give him presents, leave for Olive Garden. Eat at Olive Garden, have delicious food. Leave for Como Zoo Observatory, stop at Target 2 miles down the road because I'm sick from the food at Olive Garden. When I'm finally done being sick, it's Steph's turn. Leave Target for church. Go to church, awesome service! Go to dad's surprise party - Surprise!!! (not really surprised after all). Stay at dad's house until after 11:00 - maybe 11:30. See his side of the family, and friends that I haven't seen in over 10 years. Drive home in snow storm that's easy for a Minnesotan, but hellish for a Texan!
Sunday -
pack, eat breakfast, go to Sarah and Ben's house, see their house for the first time - WOW! have an amazing lunch - chill - work out - shower - repack - go to airport. eat a sushi snack, fly home, see John and Malachi for first time in almost three days yay!
Whew! It might have taken you about 3 or 4 minutes to read, but wow, what a busy three days.
We're having people over for a late brunch tomorrow. I'm excited.

Sick :(
John had a cold last week that we thought may delay our date. It didn't because John was better by Friday. The date was great! He did get me a present, a new phone woohoo!

Three out of four of the sushi rolls were really good, we'll definitely be going back there again. The play was very funny, there were a few times where I laughed so loud someone from the cast looked at me.
I woke up yesterday with John's cold, so did Malachi in fact. This morning my temperature was 100.8. I hope it burns away the cold! My ears and head hurt. It's too bad because I don't think I can rest very easily. Also I'm still having back problems. I think there's a knot in my back on the left side but John couldn't find it yesterday when he was massaging.
We're not going to church today, I'm sure we'll just laze around the house. Hopefully I'll be better by tomorrow so I can work. I went to the gym on Friday morning, but haven't been back since. I'm trying to do well in the eating department since I'm not exercising.
I just found out that Malachi has a temperature of 99.9. That means we wont be going to school/work tomorrow. He has to be fever free for 24 hours before he can go to school. I think I hear John cutting up fruit. We went to Central Market yesterday to buy some get healthy food. I love fruit so much, I can't wait!

Happy Valentines Day!
That's right...you heard me. Today we're celebrating Valentines Day. We decided last year that Feb. 14th was too expensive, the restaurants too crowded, and the day just was not very meaningfull. March 14th however, is less expensive, less crowded, and actually means something to us. It's the anniversary of when John got on bended knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Yep, 8 years ago tomorrow he proposed. It's crazy for me to think that it's been that long. Wow!
My in-laws are coming down today (in face they've already landed and are probably on the way to get their rental car) and my mother-in-law is going to stay with us tonight so we can have free babysitting, yay! Thanks so much Mickey!
We have a 6 o'clock reservation at Reikyu Sushi & Bar. We've been doing Sushi a lot lately. We're into the rolls of course, I'm not bold enough to go for the big raw stuff. I did have a roll in Austin that had spicy tuna on top though and that was pretty good. Then we're going to the Pocket Sandwich Theatre to see Rumors by Neil Simon. I'm pretty excited about the date over all.
I haven't gotten him a present. I don't know if he got me one. I hope not.
