Happy New Year!

Yes, I realize I'm a week late, but I also realized that I hadn't updated this year yet.

Malachi left with Grandma and Grandpa Roy the day after Christmas and John and I had a wonderful vacation! We stayed home and worked a few of those days, but it was so nice to have the house to ourselves. I found myself with a lot of extra time since I get off of work at 12 and I had no child to occupy me. I filled that time up pretty well though because I started reading the Twilight series.

John took his GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) on that Saturday and I dropped him off. To pass the time, I went to Borders to read. I brought a couple of magazines and the laptop with me, but I saw a copy of Twilight and I picked it up. In the two hours that I sat at the book store, I read almost 80 pages of the book. Later that night John felt like some alone time in the apartment so I went to Barnes & Noble and bought a copy of the book and sat and read about another 80 pages before going home. When I got home I stayed up until 4am reading and finishing the book. Yes, I realize that it's written for a younger crowd, but I don't care! It was a good book.

I spent most of my free time (and some of my not free time) reading the rest of the series while Malachi was gone. I finished the four book series on Thursday (New Year Day). Yes, I would say I was a bit obssessed. I really had a hard time putting them down. I've never, ever been obssessed like that over a book.

Anyhow...Malachi came back that Saturday and we had a wonderful weekend with him. I got a chest cold on Tuesday morning and I'm on the upswing now. I'm actually doing a lot better. I'm still coughing a bit, but otherwise I'm good.

With our Christmas money from my in-laws we bought an awesome desk for our living room. For years we have had the projector and large screen and for months we've wanted to sell those two things and change the set up of our living room. We finally bought the desk and set it up yesterday! Yay! I'm so excited to have that changed.

I don't think we have any plans this weekend. That's so weird for us. We've had something going on every weekend since the end of November. I wonder what we'll do with our time :)
