Walking Tall

Finally after four days of running I'm walking tall again. No more hunching over from pain in my back and legs. I'm not completely pain free, but I'm getting pretty close. Currently my biggest annoyances are the blisters on my feet. For some reason I didn't expect that - should have.

Today's run didn't go that well actually. I only made it to two miles today. I don't know if I'm exhausted from not sleeping well last night or if it's because I upped my speed from the beginning (although I only went from 4.0 to 4.2 so I didn't think it would be that big a deal). Anyway, I figured that instead of burning myself out I'd do my cooldown at two miles instead of three today. I think I made the right decision.

So...the two miles took approximately 26 minutes. It's definitely not my best day, but I didn't expect that I'd only have great days.

My mom is in town now. She and John should be in the car together by now. I get to see her after work today, yay!

Tip from Bru (aka Brad): Vaseline. Apply liberally to your feet before you put socks on. Keeps blisters away. And keeps your feet soft.

Also, your body will like it if you alternate hard days with easy days. Gives your muscles a chance to recover.

Oh, and drink plenty of water. I don't drink very well if I'm not hydrated beforehand.

OK, think those are all of my tips.

I mean, run very well (not drink very well).
