Roundup Assignment

I signed up to do the Round-up next Friday, the 15th. The optional topic is: Kitchens of the Foreign Service. Show us your good, bad, and ugly. How do your current kitchens compare to your previous kitchens (not just the FS ones)? I can't wait to see pictures. If anyone who is in Manila or was there at some recent time wants to share pictures, I'd love to see those!

This one isn't a kitchen per say but is food related http://worldwideavailability.wordpress.com/2011/07/10/hello-kitty-town/

Good luck with the Round Up!

I'm in! (And I'm in Manila!) I'll post about it by Friday! (Still need to clear the HHE crap so it looks like a normal person lives here...)

Here's mine. My kitchen is pretty normal overall but it has one interesting cupboard. http://smallbitsfs.blogspot.com/2011/07/state-dept-round-up-186-of-365.html

It's not about kitchens - we are on the road now - but it is about what goes in them: the task of consumables! Here is my link if you think it could work for you: http://webtexans.wordpress.com/2011/07/14/all-consuming/

Thanks for taking on the round up!

Not sure if this came through - working off a laptop that is trying to think for me. GRRRR.

My post is not about kitchens, per se, but about consumable shopping which goes with the kitchen theme a bit. If it doesn't work for you, no worries! Thanks for taking on the round up!

Here's my official entry, with pictures of both our old kitchen in Arlington as well as our kitchen in Manila: http://irunyourun.wordpress.com/2011/07/15/kitchen/ (Are you coming to Manila, is that why you want to see it?)

(Ok, all this putting things away is messing with my head. Not sure if I posted a link already and it just wasn't approved yet, or if I forgot to click send -- so don't approve this one if I have already posted!)

Here's my official entry of our Arlington vs. our Manila kitchen: http://irunyourun.wordpress.com/2011/07/15/kitchen/

Ouch! I'm running behind in my google reader, so I just saw this. No time to post, but if you want a picture of my kitchen in Amman, I posted one back when we got our UAB. http://emailfromtheembassy.blogspot.com/2010/08/first-day-of-school.html
The kitchen was a mess that day - but it's a pretty nice kitchen.

What a great topic! I think I'm too late to take pictures and the like - but I'll catch up next week. Have fun!

Hey Sara- We're new to this big FS blog world as we just started our first tour in Chennai, India. Becky was kind enough to track us down and promoted one of our posts that's kitchen related:

http://hellotalalay.blogspot.com/2011/06/pinching-carbon-footprint-at-home.html

here are two more posts that might fit the theme:

a rundown of our apt, including a pic of the kitchen:
http://hellotalalay.blogspot.com/2011/06/3br-3bth-frnshd-apt-bg-kitn-offce-2.html

a post about making a couple things from home and our mini oven:
http://hellotalalay.blogspot.com/2011/07/tasting-home.html

we hope it's fuel for the theme and look forward to the results!

I'm having major trouble with blogger y'all and I don't know when the roundup will be up. I'll try to get it done asap.

So, I'm not a cook. Ummmm...at all. My DH is, though. So although I didn't write at all about my kitchen, I did muddle through some feelings about the end of our UT-which ends in just one week! I'll be so glad to get my cook back. There's been some sorry sorry meals in this house the past year. Thanks for hosting! If you're still putting the round-up together, please feel free to add my celebration!
